It is early October of 2016, and Autumn is kissing Fire into the foliage throughout the countryside of upstate New York! From the moment that I set foot on the House of Mica Earth-space, a strong feeling of love, attention and care that goes into the vibrations of this Land came over me. The House of Mica Peace Chamber called to me! I was immediately guided along a mowed path, surrounded by stunning meticulously kept vegetable gardens, wild grasses, flower gardens, and a sapling forest, to the place where She vibrates. Within a triangular visual span from the Peace Chamber, rests a Sweat Lodge frame and Fire-pit and the Dance Arbor, surrounded by colorful deciduous woods.
From what I bore witness to, the Elders/Keepers of the House of Mica Peace Chamber and Land, Elisa and Rick Cotroneo, are outstanding stewards of Mother Earth! They have raised two beautiful children, and by Buddhist definition, live the Eight-fold path of wholesome view, resolve, speech, conduct, livelihood, effort, mindfulness and union. In addition to holding, teaching and continuing the Ceremonies within the lineage of Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow, and walking the Oneness path of their Guru, Yug Purush Swami Paramanand Ji of India, they each contribute compassionately, creatively and passionately, to their respective life paths.
Elisa dances out her vocational life as a Somatic Movement Therapist and is the founder of Wisdombody Yoga. As Executive Director for the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA), she connects practitioners worldwide, dedicated to health and wholeness, through Conscious Movement.
Rick leaps heart body and soul into his vocational life as a homeopathic practitioner, Director of Education and Training for HIV for New York State, and as Director of National Hepatitis Technical Assistance.
With a depth of experience, Rick, Elisa and the House of Mica Community are a tremendous Circle, that participates in various ceremonies each Season and holds a Sweat Lodge and Fire Ceremony every month.
The Season of SPRING welcomes the Rainbow Dance, meditation retreats with various Teachers such as, Yug Purush Swami Paramanand Ji, and a 20+ mile Good Friday walking pilgrimage.
SUMMER is the time when the spectacular Sun Moon Dance takes place on the land in upstate New York, and on Little Mesa in Abiqui, New Mexico!
The Colorful Season of AUTUMN ushers in the Long Dance.
The Season of WINTER, that beckons us to go within, is a time when the House of Mica Community experiences a Mid-Winter Drumming Vision Quest and Rick and Elisa organize a World Wide 24 hour Chant for Peace on the Winter Solstice.
